Unique opportunity for qualified chef to join growing team of culinary experts executing high-concept cuisine for the expanding professional demographic in the New River Valley.


The Maroon Door, housed in an early 1900s building in the heart of downtown Blacksburg VA and directly across from the Virginia Tech Mall and Moss Performing Arts Center, is currently undergoing a complete renovation with repurposed materials to highlight the industrial and commercial history of the building.


The vibe is a mix of urban and industrial with a hint of speakeasy.  Floor plan includes up to 104 seats in the dining room with an additional 88 seats in the adjacent bar/brewpub, plus a 5-bbl brew deck for in-house craft brewing.  Expected opening date summer 2020.


This new restaurant will collaborate with several existing locations, including an on-farm dining patio, new brewpub, event center and commissary kitchen, which are already in operation.


The successful candidate will participate in development and final execution of a new contemporary menu concept and will assist with startup, staffing and ongoing operation for this combined restaurant, bar and brewpub.
